A weak front sits offshore of Central Florida, bringing minimal moisture with it. Behind it, high pressure quickly returns, keeping relatively dry and stable air in place. Temperatures will continue to climb through the weekend.

Look for an isolated shower or thunderstorm to develop as our highs reach into the mid- and upper 80s. Those that do manage to form will slowly drift to the west. Otherwise, look for partly to mostly sunny skies with winds from the east-southeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Any showers that do manage to pop up will quiet down once the sun sets. Lows will be warmer than normal, in the low to mid-60s under partly cloudy to fair skies.

Some patchy fog will form Friday morning, as high pressure builds into the region. We'll see a similar forecast with highs in mid- to upper 80s.

Much of the same is expected through the weekend. Limited moisture keeps the first half of the weekend rain-free. By Sunday, isolated showers or storms will be possible late in the day. Daytime highs will reach the mid- to upper 80s for most, with some interior spots hitting 90 degrees. Overnight lows will drop into the mid-60s.

Heading into next week, moisture slowly increases ahead of the next cold front. Small rain chances exist until the front approaches mid-week. Temperatures will remain above normal and summer-like through this time.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued for Polk County until 2 p.m.
