A home invasion turned dangerous Sunday when the suspects put a 70-year-old Daytona Beach woman into the intensive care unit at Halifax Medical Center.

The suspects are 16 and 18 years old, and police said one of them confessed. We are not naming the 16-year-old, per our Crime Guidelines.

Homeowners inside the Colonial Colony North mobile home park said the 16-year-old girl was walking the neighborhood Saturday evening, knocking on doors.

Police said the teen and her accomplice, Marquise Favors, 18, knocked on Bonita Vansciver's door asking for directions and to use the bathroom.

The 16-year-old told police she did not hurt Vansciver. She said Favors told her he was going to do something to Vansciver.

"He struck her in the back of the head with a brick, a concrete rock," said Jimmie Flynt with Daytona Beach Police.

Vansciver said she was left unconscious and bleeding for more than 13 hours.

On Sunday, Vansciver's daughter called police to report her mom called sounding injured and confused.

Police caught both Favors and the 16-year-old. Favors went before a Volusia County judge Monday. He was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and home invasion.

Favors asked the judge, "Where's the girl that did this?"

Bond for Favors was set at $110,000. However, he is being held without bond on two outstanding warrants.

The 16-year-old was taken to juvenile detention. Police said if Vanscivers takes a turn for the worst, she could be charged as an adult.
