The cloud cover increases as we move through the day with some limited showers in the forecast. Rain chances will increase area-wide tomorrow as a cold front approaches from the west.

Winds will come ashore from the east-northeast at 15 to 20 mph with some gusts closer to 30 mph along the coast.

Scattered showers will push ashore this afternoon, with a few pockets of rain attempting to build over the interior counties. Highs will reach the mid- to upper 70s for most, with a few interior spots returning to 80 degrees.

Cloudy skies with some light showers will remain overnight, along the the east-northeast winds. Lows will hold in the upper 60s and low 70s.

That front should lift through the area Friday morning, triggering a shift in wind directions. We'll see another breezy day with winds from the southeast at 15 to 20 mph. This should help bring slightly warmer air and add support for showers and thunderstorms from the late morning through the evening hours. Periods of heavy rain and gusty winds are likely in the storms as highs climb into the low to mid-80s.

A cold front will approach from the west overnight Friday and into Saturday, keeping a chance of rain in place through the late morning hours.

By Easter Sunday, abundant sunshine and slightly cooler than normal temperatures are on tap. Expect daytime highs in the mid- to upper 70s.

High pressure will build back into the region early next week, keeping highs in the mid-80s and relatively dry air in place for several days.
