The driver of a car that was sent crashing into a day care center in Winter Park after being rear-ended by an SUV last week has tested negative for alcohol.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Thursday that 61-year-old Albert Dean Campbell, who was driving a Toyota Solara that crashed nearly all the way through the KinderCare on North Goldenrod Road, had no alcohol or drugs in his system at the time of the crash.

The FHP is still investigating the April 9 crash that killed 4-year-old Lily Quintus and injured 14 other people.

An FHP report released Wednesday says Campbell was preparing to turn right onto the private drive of the KinderCare, when a Dodge Durango driven by Robert Corchado rear-ended the car.

The impact propelled the car through the KinderCare parking lot and into the building.

Corchado was charged with fleeing the scene of a deadly crash. He remains in the Orange County Jail on a bond of $100,000.

If Corchado posts bond, he could be sent to Seminole County, where he faces drug charges from an incident in December 2013 that prosecutors claim also involved a hit-and-run crash. Corchado's defense attorney, however, noted no hit-and-run charges were filed in that incident, because prosecutors in Seminole County said there was not enough evidence.

Corchado would also be prohibited from driving or leaving Orange or Seminole County if released on bond.
