You've probably heard of a dress code for children, but what about their parents?

One South Florida school district wants that implemented. As you can imagine this story has a lot of people talking.

Broward County School Board member Rosalind Osgood doesn't want parents wearing short shorts or other inappropriate clothing to school.

Osgood said at an early April meeting that too many moms and dads are going to schools in inappropriate outfits.

She said the principal at Boyd Anderson High in Lauderdale Lakes gives students wearing sagging pants a belt to wear, so it's hard to enforce those rules when the parents are not dressing appropriately.

We asked people what they thought on the News 13 Facebook page, and we've gotten about 180 comments so far. We had many people come out in favor of a parent dress code, but we had many who thought this was just plain silly.

Belinda Gardner said:

"Just teach our children and don't worry about what I wear to pick my child up. Use that money you r wasting on stupid stuff like this and use it for our kids. When I'm off of work I won't wear what someone else wants me to unless they are paying me. Isn't that what my rights say I can do within reason of the law and the constitution gives me protection from someone else dedicates to me."

Stacy Harrison said:

"No way if you are just sitting in a car in the drop off or pick up line. Things are getting a little out of hand. If a parent must enter school grounds that might be different, but parents do work & at times leave their jobs to pick up their children. I personnally would not be going home to change my clothes if I had to pick a sick child. Really these schools need to focus on teaching and many other things leave the parents alone for god sake."

Dana Elting said:

"Yes! It's disturbing to see parents in robes and curlers dropping their kids off. Some moms have NO BUSINESS wearing the mini skirts, crop tops, or spandex that they do. Classy."

Lindsey Perez-Lopez said:

"So, let's say they DO enforce a dress code for parents. What happens when its not followed? Can't take your kids to school anymore? Citizens arrest? This is ridiculous."

Michael Kirby said:

"Let's concentrate on education for crying out loud. Our schools seem more concerned in social engineering than proper/adequate education."

Carol Jean Campbell said:

"If you've seen some parents at my son's school you would agree with it!! I say go for it! If you are not a sleaze then you should have nothing to worry about!"
