Florida legislators with extra money to spend this year are steering taxpayer money to everything from gun ranges to a military museum to a course designed to teach "sexual risk avoidance."
Public records obtained Tuesday from the Florida House show that legislators are pushing to get millions into the state's budget. Currently that budget is roughly $75 billion.
Hometown budget requests from state legislators used to be posted online, but legislative leaders discontinued this system during the state's economic downturn.
