The Osceola County Sheriff's Office says an accused child molester who disappeared was caught in The Bahamas.

Loomes Wheeler Jr., 70, was found on the Exuma Islands April 14. He will be extradited back to Osceola County.

Investigators said Wheeler, who owns Horse World Riding Stables in Kissimmee, left the country in September after cutting off his GPS tracking monitor.

But the company monitoring him didn’t notify deputies until seven hours later.

The 70-year-old was arrested in April 2013 after a 9-year-old claimed he sexually battered her for years, starting when she was only five.

Wheeler bonded out of jail but was quickly rearrested after another woman came forward claiming Wheeler molested her as a teenager.

He was on pre-trial release when he disappeared. His GPS monitor was found in a wooded area near his home.

Wheeler's life on the run ended earlier this week when Drug Enforcement Administration agents started investigating his associates in The Bahamas.

“Mr. Wheeler was with the individuals that they were investigating," said Twis Lizasuain, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman. "He was taken into custody. Initially, he provided false identification.”

Along with that fake driver's license, Wheeler had a different haircut -- shorter and brown. He also had a slimmer face and a goatee.

The investigators didn’t know they had Wheeler until he confessed his true identity as agents were questioning him.

“Detectives are going to want to know how he was able to get down to The Bahamas," Lizasuain said. "How long he’d been there? That’s going to be an ongoing investigation. Right now, the priority is to bring him back to Osceola County so he can face those charges.”

Wheeler faces capital felony charges because of the age of the child. Wheeler’s alleged victims have been notified. He’s expected to be back as early as Thursday and will be held without bond until he faces a judge.
