The cleanup continues after a massive two-alarm fire ravaged an Osceola County apartment building.

The fire broke out around 3 p.m. Tuesday at the Evander Square Apartments, located at Celebration Boulevard and Latta Drive.

Osceola County Fire Rescue Deputy Chief Danny McAvoy said a lightning strike likely caused the fire.

“It just eventually started to look like a war zone,” said Andrea Moore, a resident. “The smoke was so heavy you couldn’t even see the building.”

Firefighters from four different departments helped to extinguish the blaze. Crews monitored the scene overnight for hot spots.

The three-story, 24-unit building is likely a total loss, McAvoy said.

Fire officials said the fire started in the front of the brand new building.

No one was injured in the fire.

The State Fire Marshal's Office is investigating.
