George Zimmerman and his attorneys are no longer trying to get state prosecutors to pay for evidence related to Zimmerman's trial.

Dropping the lawsuit is a step toward moving forward with another case.

Zimmerman and his attorneys wanted prosecutors to pay the bill for what it cost to have evidence uncovered from Trayvon Martin's cell phone. The prosecutors claimed they never withheld that evidence.

Zimmerman was found not guilty in 2013 of murdering Trayvon Martin during a confrontation in a Sanford neighborhood in 2012.

Zimmerman is now moving forward with a defamation lawsuit against NBC. The lawsuit claims "The Today Show" and NBC's Miami station edited Zimmerman's phone call to dispatch. They say the editing emphasized that Zimmerman identified Trayvon Martin as a black man.
