The 12-year-old Seminole County boy charged with making a hoax 911 call about a shooting hoax at Lake Mary High School Friday was released from a juvenile detention center Monday.

A judge ruled he did not need to be held in secured detention until his next court date, scheduled for Monday, March 10.

Deputies said the boy called 911 and reported a fake shooting that put the high school on a code red lockdown.

The high school was evacuated after deputies said the juvenile used a fake name and reported a shooting, first mentioning nearby Greenwood Lake Middle School, and then saying the shooter was at Lake Mary High School.

There's a lot of blood all over the place, and the guys are around the place, so it's not safe.

Deputies said they managed to track down the caller Friday afternoon.

The boy has been charged with misuse of 911 and disruption of an education institution. Both charges are misdemeanors.

Seminole County school officials said the boy was being disciplined, but would not go into detail.
