The US Army Corps of Engineers wants to hear from you if you have questions or concerns about a shoreline re-nourishment plan for a portion of the Flagler County coast.

A plan is in the works to extend more than two-and-a-half miles of dune line in Flagler Beach.

The US Army Corps of Engineers held a public meeting regarding the plan earlier this month and the public comment period was to have ended this past Monday. However, that deadline has been extended an additional 15 days and public comments will be accepted until March 1.

If approved, the project will bring sand from the ocean floor every 11 years to fix further eroded areas over a 50-year period.
