Pawn shops, tattoo parlors, check cashing stores and even mobile food vending businesses will now be limited on Semoran Boulevard.

On Monday Orlando's city council passed an ordinance to rezone Semoran Boulevard between Curry Ford Road and State Road 528 near Orlando International Airport.

The new ordinance zones out the following businesses:

  • Car Title loan companies
  • Check cashing stores
  • Tattoo, body art and body piercing parlors
  • Pawn shops
  • Bail bond agencies
  • Flea markets
  • Small car and rental lots
  • Fortune tellers
  • Mobile food vending
  • Bottle clubs

Any of those businesses currently on that stretch of the road will be grandfathered in.

The city said they want to make that part of Semoran more inviting to people who come in from Orlando International Airport, so that they stay and shop, turning Semoran into a "Main Street."
