If you want to wait less at the DMV listen up. Certain counties are making changes that could make your life easier.
“I remember one time I waited over two hours,” said Paul Johnson.
Residents in Brevard and Orange counties can go online and make an appointment for not only driver license services, but now tags and titles too.
“Our goal is to reduce wait times,” said Orange County Tax Collector Scott Randolph.
Paul Johnson made an appointment before his recent visit at the Downtown Orlando location.
“I printed my ticket and 30 seconds later they called my ticket,” said Johnson.
A 30-second wait is a little quick, but according to the Orange County Tax Collectors Office this December the average wait time for someone who made an appointment was four minutes.
The average for those who didn’t make an appointment was 47 minutes.
"The more people we schedule and know are coming in at a particular time, the better I think we can serve them very quickly,” said Randolph.
“Definitely always make appointments. That’s the way to go,” said Johnson.
Every county in Central Florida has their own system.
In Osceola, Marion, Sumter and Flagler there are no online appointments.
In Lake County, you can call over the phone and make an appointment for road tests and to get your original drivers license.
In Volusia and Seminole counties you can make an online appointment to get driver licenses services.
