There is a strong northeast wind over the Atlantic Ocean and Florida Peninsula producing cloudy and wet conditions that will linger through the predawn hours Tuesday.

The breezy conditions are being produced by an area of low pressure offshore that will begin to lift away and intensify as it moves north along the Eastern Seaboard later in the day. As the low moves away, winds will turn to the north and northwest, resulting in a change to a breezy, cool and dry weather pattern for the next few days.

It will remain cloudy with light sprinkles for a good bit of Tuesday morning, with periods of misty foggy weather overnight, as well. The visibility on the roads may drop at times overnight due to foggy conditions. Northerly winds will produce cooler nighttime lows, with morning temperatures settling to near 50 degrees inland with colder 40s north and west of I-4. The influence of the wind off the water will keep coastal areas in the mid- to upper-50s. Drier air will begin to move in just before sunrise, allowing for skies to begin to clear from north to south this morning.

Tuesday will begin a bit like Monday for some, with pockets of drizzle and light rain possible in our southern counties. Through the morning, clouds will begin to break as it becomes a bit breezy with wind gusts over 15-25 mph at times. Highs will run in the low- to mid-60s Tuesday, and as winds remain out of the northwest for a few days, this unseasonably cool air will stick around through the end of the workweek. Highs will gradually return to near 70 degrees by the end of the weekend. Beyond today, rain will be absent from the forecast as high pressure stretches across the southeast.

We are expecting some cold mornings over the next several days. Our northern counties should see temperatures into the upper-30s by Wednesday morning, with many areas north of I-4 seeing the mid- to upper-30s on Thursday morning with some patchy frost possible. It will be quite cold again Friday morning with a slow warmup in the forecast for the weekend and early next week.
