A Transportation Security Administration agent has been charged with his estranged wife's murder after Osceola County deputies said they found the woman's body inside a van parked in Poinciana early Monday morning.

Herve Placide, 49, surrendered to Osceola County deputies Monday afternoon. Sheriff's officials said he is responsible for the death of his estranged wife, Magalie Placide, 52.

Investigators said it all started when the estranged couple got into a fight early Monday morning. Deputies got a call around 5:15 a.m. from a family member who said the couple had gotten into a physical altercation. The caller also said Herve Placide had driven off with Magalie in a white van.

Around 45 minutes later, at 6 a.m., a deputy on patrol made the gruesome discovery in a parking lot near the Walgreens on the 300 block of Cypress Parkway, near Marigold Avenue. Magalie Placide was found dead inside the vehicle.

The parking lot was taped off for much of Monday morning as investigators combed through evidence. Officials with the medical examiner's office removed the body, and a tow truck took the van to a police impound lot.

Investigators said they made contact with Herve Placide shortly after the discovery, and he allegedly said he wanted to turn himself in.

News 13 has also learned the couple had previous domestic violence issues. According to deputies Herve Placide was also arrested in 2011 after another physical altercation with his wife.

Deputies said Herve Placide worked as a security agent for the TSA. He was charged with first-degree murder and taken to the Osceola County Jail.
