Police have charged a man with attempted murder after they said he beat and stabbed a woman inside a hotel room in Kissimmee.
Ronald Batiste was arrested Friday after Kissimmee police said they responded to a 911 hang-up call made near the Golden Orchid Inn on U.S. Highway 192, just west of John Young Parkway.
Police said they saw Batiste, 57, throw several punches in a downward position, battering a smaller female victim. When the officers commanded Batiste to open the door, they said he complied.
The victim was taken to a local hospital with several injuries, including stab wounds. Police said the woman was expected to recover from her injuries.
Batiste was arrested on charges of attempted murder and hindering a call to law enforcement. He was locked up without bond in the Osceola County Jail.
