The Kissimmee Police Department is once again making sure kids can enjoy the holidays with its ‘Shop with a Cop’ program.

The department partnered with the Wal-Mart to once again offer the “Shop with a Cop” program to Kissimmee students whose families are experiencing financial difficulties.

“This is one of the best programs that the Kissimmee Police Department is involved with,” said Kissimmee Police Chief Lee Massie, “It’s heartwarming to see the smiles on the faces of these children.”

Students from each of the schools within the City of Kissimmee joined members of the Kissimmee Police Department for a few hours of shopping.  Each participant was provided with a $130 Wal-Mart gift card for their shopping.

On Tuesday, 38 students shopped at Wal-Mart and then enjoyed a free lunch at McDonald’s.

On Thursday, 40 students will be shopping with cops and then have lunch at the Kissimmee Police Department.
