A woman walking across a Brevard County road was killed Thursday evening after she was hit by an SUV.
It happened on Paradise Lane and Cocoa Boulevard just after 6:30 p.m.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Priscilla Jeffords, 58, of Cocoa was trying to cross Paradise Lane and walked in front of the SUV driven by Judith Connelly, 73, of Merritt Island.
Jeffords was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash remains under investigation.
