Officials are releasing more information about the woman who was run over and killed in East Orange County Thursday afternoon.

The Florida Highway Patrol says 65-year-old Randi Wheeler was run over accidentally by someone who she lives with, and neighbors say that person, 64-year-old Steven Proctor, is her son-in-law.

A trooper with the Florida Highway Patrol confirms that the victim and the driver of the truck live in the same home. But she would not tell us if the two are related.

“It’s a vehicle versus pedestrian traffic crash. The pickup truck was backing out of a driveway, collided with a pedestrian that was at the end of the driveway,” said Sgt. Catherine Oliver, FHP.

Investigators says what happened on Rich Moor Circle Thursday afternoon appears to be a tragic accident.

Neighbor Susianna Daley says Randi Wheeler was Steven Proctor’s mother-in-law, and that she knows the victim and her family well.

"We used to take clothes, food and stuff to the homeless and pray for them and stuff. So I know them well,” said Daley.

Troopers said charges are pending the results of the investigation.
