More sunshine and strong winds out of the south brought in some warm temperatures to round out the weekend.

All over Central Florida, highs were able to climb into the 80s. Melbourne actually tied the high record of 86 degrees that was set back in 1992. With warm weather continuing Monday, old records will again be at risk. We will also keep a chance for showers and a few storms through midweek with the approach of a cold front.

Things look to be dry, though, just in time for Thanksgiving.

Warm and humid conditions will persist overnight and throughout the day Monday as the deep southerly flow produces a nearly saturated air mass over the state. Expect partly cloudy skies as we head toward daybreak with lows only falling into the upper-60s to low-70s. There is also the possibility of some areas of fog to develop early Monday morning. Temperatures will climb into the mid-80s again on Monday, with some record high temperatures possible. Skies will remain mostly cloudy, and there will be a chance for showers and thunderstorms as the cold front moves into North Florida.

The cold front will slow to a crawl over the central peninsula late Monday and into Tuesday and then will begin to pick up speed again late Tuesday as a new area of low pressure develops along the front over the Atlantic waters. The front will be pulled through Florida late Tuesday and early Wednesday with the potential for showers and thunderstorms from Monday night through Tuesday night, with conditions beginning to clear during the day Wednesday.

Northwest winds behind the front Wednesday will begin to move a cooler and drier air mass into Central Florida, which will persist through the rest of the holiday weekend. Thanksgiving Day will be sunny, cool and dry with highs in the mid-60s, with similar conditions continuing into Friday and slightly warmer and dry weather into the weekend.

The Atlantic Hurricane Season ends Nov. 30.
