The new-and-improved Orlando Citrus Bowl is reopening just in time for this weekend's Florida Classic.

The game is scheduled for 2 p.m., and it will be the first sporting event in the stadium since it officially reopened earlier this week.

Construction crews working on the 814,000-square-foot facility have been hammering, sawing and welding around the clock since the demolition back in January.

There is still some work that needs to be done, but the complex is ready to greet fans for this weekend's festivities. Work on the $207 million project will continue until spring 2015, but officials said it shouldn't have an impact on any of upcoming events.

Allen Johnson, executive director for Orlando Venues, said tens of thousands of fans are expected to be in town for the game and accompanying events.

Johnson said visitors should considering using public transportation because construction equipment continues to take up a lot of space in the parking lot.
