A Sumter County woman is accused of raiding her mother's prepaid funeral account for more than $10,000.

Amanda Jefferson, 48, is facing felony charges after she allegedly impersonated her sister and obtained $10,658.93 from the J. Foster Phillips Funeral Home, in New York, according to the Sumter County Sheriff's Office.

Jefferson's sister had paid for the funeral home and was the only one allowed to access the funds, deputies said.

Jefferson was arrested by deputies Wednesday, Nov. 19, at her home in The Villages.
