There is warmer weather in the forecast for the rest of this week and into the weekend for Central Florida, with enough moisture in play by the weekend to begin seeing Atlantic showers moving onshore and across the peninsula in a fresh easterly wind flow.  Our next cold front will arrive early next week, keeping our weather unsettled and warm Monday and Tuesday, with cooler and drier air arriving next Wednesday.

After a very cold start with many temperatures dipping into the 30s Wednesday morning, we were able to warm a bit during the afternoon under mostly cloudy to partly sunny skies. Afternoon highs were able to reach the low to mid-60s across the interior, considerably below the average high of 78 degrees but warmer than the Tuesday afternoon.  Offshore rough ocean conditions warranted a continuation of the Small Craft Advisory through the day, with unsettled seas expected through today.

Tonight will be clear and cold again, but not as chilly with lows in the low to mid-40s. Those along the coast will stay in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. A Freeze Warning will be in effect for Marion County from 1 a.m. until 9 a.m. Thursday.

This morning will be clear and cold again, but not as chilly as Wednesday morning with lows area-wide in the low to mid-40s. Some patchy fog will develop north of the I-4 corridor.  Those along the coast will stay in the upper 40s to near 50 degrees. Onshore winds will promote additional moderating temperatures on Thursday and Friday afternoons with highs back at or just above 70 degrees.

The weekend forecast will become a bit unsettled starting Saturday with isolated showers returning to the forecast off of the Atlantic ocean. An approaching cold front will cause moisture to increase on late Sunday and Monday, so there remains a chance for showers. The front is expected to push through the peninsula late Tuesday into Wednesday with another batch of cooler air in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The tropics remain quiet with no development expected in the next two to five days. Hurricane season comes to an end on Nov. 30.
