A kiss contains more than just affection; according to a recent study, it also contains literally millions of bacteria.

A 10-second French kiss can transfer as many as 80 million bacteria to the other person.

That's according to a new study published in the medical journal "Microbiome."

Researchers in the Netherlands studied more than 20 couples, and tested how many times they kissed and took swabs of the couple's mouths.

They found that couples who kiss an average of nine times a day have similar communities of bacteria in their mouths from sharing bacteria through kissing.

Don't get too grossed out -- researchers say these sorts of bacteria can help people in digesting food and preventing disease.
