High temperatures on Friday were lower than previous days, in the middle-to-upper 70s. A stronger cold front on Saturday will bring even colder temperatures for the weekend. In fact, we could break records with lows Saturday night in the 40s.

Mostly clear skies will continue through the overnight hours. There will be a bit of a breeze out of the northwest as temperatures fall into the middle 50s.

Gusty north winds will take over early Saturday when the second cold front slides through. This one will lack rainfall, but will be capable of a meaningful drop in temperatures for the weekend. Expect plenty of sunshine heading into Saturday afternoon, but cool temperatures only climbing about 10 degrees from the morning lows. Highs will be in the middle-to-low 60s.

Winds will pick up considerably behind this front; out of the northwest between 15-20 mph with gusts of 40 mph possible. This will create some hazardous conditions across Central Florida. There is a Small Craft Advisory issued starting Saturday morning, along with a Gale Warning offshore. A Lake Wind Advisory has been issued starting Saturday morning for rough conditions on the water. There is also a Wind Advisory for all of Central Florida, due to the possibility of strong wind gusts. With extreme dry air moving in and high winds, there’s a greater fire risk this weekend as well.

Overnight Saturday into Sunday is when the temperatures will be at their coldest; parts of Marion county may dip as far down as the middle 30s; area wide, low-to-middle 40s will be common except for at the immediate coast. The record low for Orlando on Sunday morning of 46 degrees will be in jeopardy. Winds will continue to run close to 10 mph, keeping the potential for any frost in rural areas to a minimum.  Plenty of sun will be on hand throughout the weekend with clear skies at night. Tranquil weather will last through the start of the next work week with onshore winds modifying the airmass and allowing temperatures to increase each day.

In the tropics, all is quiet as we wrap up the month of October and move in to November and the end of the official tropical season.  No formation is expected in the next two to five days.
