Edgewater High School in Orange County was evacuated Friday morning after a lab experiment triggered the fire alarm, school officials said.

According to Orange County Public Schools, a chemistry teacher was working on an experiment that produced smoke around 10:30 a.m.

The smoke set off the fire alarm, which evacuated the entire campus. The smoke also set off sprinklers inside the chemistry classroom.

No one was hurt, school officials said.

Students were allowed back inside shortly after 11 a.m., with a change for students with classes in Building 3, where the chemistry classrooms is located. Those students were instrcuted to report to the auditorium and other classes for the rest of the day Friday while staff members mopped up the water from the sprinklers.
