A corrections officer at Tomoka Correctional Institution has resigned after she was caught stealing 12 Xbox games from a Walmart in Flagler County, according to a report.

Nichole Michelle Roberts, 32, resigned from her position effective Oct. 27, according to the Department of Corrections. The Tomoka Correctional Facility is located in Daytona Beach.

She was seen taking the video games, valued at $263.52, from the Walmart located at 174 Cypress Point Parkway, in Palm Coast, around 5:45 p.m. Oct. 25, according to a Flagler County Sheriff's Office charging affidavit.

An asset protection associate noticed Roberts take the games and conceal them in her purse throughout several departments. Roberts then passed all points of sale, making no attempt to pay for the concealed merchandise. She was confronted by two asset protection employees as soon as she walked outside of the store.

Roberts was issued a notice to appear. She wasn't arrested.
