A Seminole County man is out of jail, accused of abusing his 5-week-old daughter.

Sanford police said it happened around 4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 7 at the Town Center Apartments.

Max Negron, 21, said he was alone and trying to burp the girl when she abruptly kicked, causing him to lose grip. He said the girl then fell onto the carpeted floor, hitting her head on a video game controller.

Negron and the child's mother rushed the girl to Central Florida Regional Hospital where she was diagnosed with a left skull fracture.

The infant was then transported via ambulance to Florida Hospital South for further treatment. She is now in intensive care at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children.

Investigators said the fall Negron described would not have resulted in that level of injuries.

Negron was arrested Friday, Oct. 24 and charged with aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse. He was released from the Seminole County jail the following day after posting $15,000 bond.
