They’re scaring for a good cause in southern Brevard County for a sixth year; “The Haunted Lair”, will raise donations for a domestic violence shelter.

We want to warn you, some of what you’ll read may be a little frightening.

Pigs with knives, bleeding eyes, messed up clowns; The Haunted Lair is not for the faint of heart, or those with any heart at all.

“It was scary, I feel nervous already, like I can’t even talk, I’m like winded,” said Jessica Keenan.

“I’m still sweating," added Jessica's friend Danielle Sullivan.

Now in its sixth year, second at the new location in Palm Bay, the haunted house is going for big scares from some of Hollywood’s biggest movies.

From the Chuckie doll that comes to life, to Freddy who needs a manicure.

“I’ll probably have nightmares about him,” said Keenan. “Have to sleep with my night light,” Sullivan added.

There’s surprises at every corner.

And plenty of requests for help, but no need to assist.

They’re all actors, and most are volunteers from local high schools.

“I mean I think everybody has got a little bit of a psycho in them, so I just have to tap into that, I go,” said actor Anthony Santiago.

Oh yeah, there’s screaming. And more screaming.

But they swear they scare because they care, just ask Freddy Krueger.

"I like to volunteer my time to help the community and this is one way of giving,” said Rick Alexander.

It’s the truth. They support Serene Harbor, a domestic violence center in Brevard County.

A Halloween tradition now, not afraid to scare to help out a those who need it.
