Deputies say John Camps had six felony warrants for his arrest, and is now facing numerous other charges after a high sped chase with deputies on Thursday.

Investigators tracked him to a bank at Holden Avenue and South Orange Blossom Trail Thursday morning.

But when they approached his vehicle attempting to block Camps in, deputies say he drove off nearly hitting a patrol vehicle, and leading investigators on a chase for three miles before crashing into a guard rail.

Investigators say in Camps possession was a loaded 9mm Taurus handgun and numerous prescription pills with no prescriptions for the medications.

He's been charged with Aggravated Assault on a Law Enforcement Officer with a motor vehicle, among more than a half-dozen new charges.
