Two people are hospitalized after being shot in a home invasion in Orange County early Friday morning.

A woman escaped through a window during a crime in Orange County’s Dr. Phillips area Friday morning. Two men were shot in the house on 7300 block of Burnway Drive. That’s in the Club House estates neighborhood, off South Apopka Vineland Road.

The two gunmen are still on the loose. At this time information is still very limited, but investigators said two men who were visiting the home and were shot by the intruders may have been targeted.

Those victims are in serious condition.

When deputies got there, they found two men, ages 22 and 40, had been shot several times. The woman who escaped told investigators the two intruders demanded money.

A neighbor who didn't want to be named said she lives nearby and heard the shots.

"I thought someone was banging on something," the neighbor said. "I was actually sitting inside. I saw two people like run that way, but that’s it and then I went inside because I was, like, that doesn’t look right. And then I was watching through my window and I saw them, like two cops run by and then I saw a whole bunch of them."

Another neighbor said the two women were renting the house and hadn't been there long.

But for neighbors raising families on these streets, it is a total shock.

“It makes me worry about if I go on a trip and leave them at home, are they safe?" Brian Carmichael said.

Detectives spent the afternoon looking for clues and interviewing neighbors, hoping to find more clues about what happened.

So far no arrests have been made. Deputies have not been able to interview the victims yet, because the two men who were shot are in serious condition at Orlando Regional Medical Center. But deputies said they hope to talk to them in the next few days.
