An employee of a Flagler County fitness club was arrested Monday and charged with using customers' car keys to steal money from their vehicles, deputies said.

Jacob Riley Robertson, 24, of Palm Coast, was arrested after two members of Atlantic Fitness Center, located at 3 Boulder Rock Drive, reported cash was stolen from their vehicles while they exercised at the club.

The victims left their keys hanging on hooks inside the fitness center's lobby while they worked out, a report states.

Robertson was seen on surveillance video taking the keys, going to the vehicles, and then taking more than $300 from the vehicles.

Robertson told deputies he was working the day of the incidents, but he continued to deny his involvement in the burglaries. Robertson was charged with two counts of burglary of an automobile, petit theft and grand theft, according to jail records.

He remained in the Flagler County Inmate Facility on $5,000, jail records show. Robertson has previously been arrested in Flagler County on a variety of charges, according to the Sheriff's Office's website.
