After a dry and comfortable weekend, rain chances will begin to increase as we head throughout the workweek.

The forecast depends greatly on whether an area of low pressure in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico develops and its eventual track.

A weak front from Friday is working its way back north tonight, which will allow for some cloud cover as some moisture moves in along the boundary from the Gulf of Mexico overnight.

We'll see partly cloudy skies throughout the overnight hours with lows in the mid- to upper 60s. There is also a chance for patchy fog to develop by sunrise Tuesday.

Partly cloudy skies will remain in the forecast Tuesday with highs in the mid-80s and heat index readings in the upper 80s. The warm and mainly dry weather will continue Wednesday and Thursday as well. There is a slightly higher chance for rain over Brevard and Osceola counties for the next three days.

Later in the week, our rain chances may increase due to an area of low pressure in the Gulf. At this time, it seems the low will pass through South Florida, so most of the rain will pass to the south of Central Florida. We have the greatest chance for rain Friday, and then as the low moves into the Atlantic Ocean, rain chances will drop off as cooler, drier air is drawn into Florida behind the low. For now, next weekend will be nice with highs near 80 degrees and lows dropping off to near 60 degrees again.

In the tropics, there are two areas being watched for tropical development over the next few days. Low pressure way out in the Atlantic, near the African coast, has a medium chance for tropical development in the next five days. The area of low pressure in the southwestern Gulf of Mexico that will increase our rain chances this week has a high chance for tropical development in the next five days.
