For the first time this year, President Barack Obama is shifting into campaign mode.

The President plans to make his first major campaign appearance for the 2014 Midterm Elections this afternoon in Maryland to show support for a democratic candidate for governor.

While President Obama has attended dozens of fundraisers, this will be his first public appearance with a candidate.

Later in the day he'll make campaign stop number two in Chicago to appear at an event for the Illinois governor seeking re-election.
