Icelandair will resume service at Orlando International Airport next year.

The Orlando International Airport announced Friday that the airline will resume service in September 2015 with flights between Orlando and Reykjavik four-days-a-week, Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

“We are pleased that Icelandair sees value in providing their customers with an excellent travel experience including a world-class airport like Orlando International and destination such as Central Florida,” says Phil Brown, Executive Director of the Greater Orlando Aviation Authority.

Icelandair operates Boeing 757-200 aircraft capable of transporting 183 passengers. In 2015 the airline will serve 39 global destinations and 10 U.S. locations including Boston, Denver, New York, Newark, Washington, Minneapolis-St. Paul, Seattle-Tacoma, Anchorage , Portland and Orlando.

Icelandair was Orlando International Airport’s very first scheduled international airline serving MCO from 1984 until its departure in 2006.
