At 5 p.m., the center of Fay was located near latitude 33.7 north, longitude 49.9 west. The remnants of Fay are expected to move eastward or eastsoutheastward during the next couple of days.

Maximum sustained winds have decreased to near 50 mph, with higher gusts. Slow weakening is expected during the next 48 hours.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 205 miles from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 993 mb, or 29.33 inches.
