A man who was placing a kayak in the Indian River in Brevard County made a gruesome discovery -- a dead body.
It happened Thursday afternoon off Riveredge Drive, about a mile East of the entrance to the Space Center Executive Airport.
Brevard County Sheriff’s Office investigators have identified the woman as 24-year-old Jennifer Hedges of Titusville.
Investigators say preliminary results of an autopsy conducted by the Brevard County Medical Examiner determined that Hedges was beaten and then dumped in the Indian River.
