After months of some much needed rehab, SeaWorld Orlando returned Skellington, a male manatee to the waters of St. Augustine.

Skellington was rescued back in April by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, after they found him wounded and beached on a sand bar.

He was rushed to SeaWorld Orlando and nursed back to health.

Officials say were able to give Skellington supportive care, nutritional support, correct his low blood sugar and get him back on the road to recovery. They say once Skellington recovered, he put on about 225 pounds in five months, returning him to a healthy weight.

So far this year, SeaWorld Orlando has rescued eight manatees, and returned nine back to their natural environments.
