It looks like the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo will not be coming to Osceola County after all.

County leaders released a statement, saying the event, which is known as the “Super Bowl of Rodeo,” accepted an offer to stay in Las Vegas where it's been held for nearly 30 years.

"Of course it is disappointing but our efforts to attract the 'Super Bowl' of Rodeo to Osceola County really brought together all our partners – and it was not just an Osceola County endeavor," Commission Chairman Fred Hawkins Jr. said. "The region, particularly Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer, really made this a team effort."

Commissioners hoped bringing the rodeo to Central Florida would give local tourism a boost between Thanksgiving and Christmas each year.
