A protest at an Orlando Wal-Mart ended with seven people arrested Thursday.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office said the arrests were made because the demonstrators were blocking the parking lot entrance to the retail store on East Colonial Drive.

The protest was part of a nationwide rally organized by OUR Walmart for better paying jobs from the grocery chain.

Organizers said Thursday’s event was in reaction to the lack of response from Wal-Mart to demands for a minimum $25,000 salary for full-time workers.

The sheriff’s office did not release the names of those arrested, but said charges included resisting arrest and blocking an entrance.

Protesters have gathered at Central Florida Wal-Marts before.

In November 2012, they demonstrated in front of several stores and threatened a Black Friday walk-out for workers.
