The Kissimmee Fire Department has new fire chief. David G. Kilbury will be sworn in as the new chief on October 1.

Kilbury began his career with the South Trail Fire District in Fort Myers in 1985, where he worked for two and a half years before leaving for the City of Cape Coral where he rose through the organization to the rank of Battalion Chief before retiring in 2008.

After retiring from Cape Coral, he served as the Assistant Fire Chief of Administration with the City of Clermont Fire Department for the past four years.

Chief Kilbury is a Florida certified Paramedic, Fire Instructor, Live Fire Instructor, and Fire Officer I.

Chief Kilbury will be sworn in at the October 1st City Commission meeting.
