A 22-year-old is in jail after Marion County deputies said he left his wallet at a robbery scene.

On Dec. 13, Marion County deputies said two males with a gun entered the Quik King at 1350 SE Highway 484 and demanded cash.

K-9 deputies tracked the suspects to a dirt driveway behind the store where they located a wallet with the Florida identification card for Keith Howell.

Deputies said they went to Howell’s home and found a ski mask with eye holes cut out in the trash outside his home.

Four days later, Howell was pulled over for having a headlight out.

The deputy said he found Howell’s right leg stretched over the center console from the rear seat.

When asked why he jumped into the backseat, Howell said his driver’s license was suspended.

During a search of the car, deputies located a mask, gloves and a black semi-automatic pellet gun.

Howell denies having any knowledge of a robbery or how the evidence against him was collected.

He was charged with robbery with a firearm, possession of marijuana and driving with a suspended license.  Howell is in the Marion County Jail on $55,500 bond.
