It looks like we'll have a launch with our Thanksgiving turkey. After technical issues forced SpaceX to scrub its rocket launch attempt Monday, the launch was rescheduled for Thursday.

The launch window for the Falcon 9 rocket was set to open at 5:37 p.m. Monday, but SpaceX stopped the countdown shortly before 5:30 p.m. due to a telemetry issue.

The countdown eventually restarted, aiming for a 6:30 p.m. launch, but just before the rocket was set to lift off, a new issue prompted SpaceX to scrub the launch.

Thursday's launch window is scheduled to open at 5:38 p.m.

When it does blast off, the Falcon 9 will carry a new communications satellite into orbit. The SES-8 will provide direct-to-home broadcasting and network services.

This is the first commercial payload to launch from Brevard County.
