Police said they have arrested an Osceola County teacher for an inappropriate relationship with one of his students, including exchanging explicit photos with the 16-year-old.

Wayne Brown, a teacher at Mavericks High School in Kissimmee, was arrested Friday and charged with distributing obscene material to a minor.

Kissimmee Police said their investigation began in September, when Brown's wife told another school employee that he received explicit photos of a 16-year-old female student. But detectives said Brown, 34, denied receiving pictures from a student.

Detectives then interviewed the student, who said she had been in an "increasingly more intimate" relationship with Brown over the course of a year. She said she and Brown both exchanged explicit photos of each other, but their relationship had not become physical.

Police said Brown met with detectives agains on Thursday and cooperated with their investigation. He turned himself in Friday, and was booked into the Osceola County Jail on $5,000 bond.

Detectives said they believe Brown may have victimized other students at Mavericks High School and at his church, where he is a minister. Police did not immediately identify the church.
