A Polk County detention deputy is accused of exposing himself to a female employee while at work.

Dexter Hill, 44, of Lakeland, was arrested Friday on charges of indecent exposure in public and tampering in a misdemeanor proceeding.

According to the arrest affidavit, Hill exposed himself while at work in front of a female employee who also worked at the South County Jail.

Investigators said Hill, who was the woman's supervisor, made sexual comments to her a few months ago. In February, Hill reportedly called the woman to an administration office, and when she arrived, she found him standing in the office with his pants unzipped and his genitals exposed.

Investigators said the woman told Hill she didn't do things like that and that she would forget anything happened, to which Hill responded, "I feel like you owe me." Investigators said Hill told her he had helped her get into the academy.

Hill is also accused of contacting the woman during the investigation in an attempt to influence the woman not to incriminate him.

Hill was booked into the Polk County Jail on Friday night and later released after posting $1,500 bond.

Hill was a lieutenant who had worked for the Polk County Sheriff's Office for 19 years. Hill resigned the day he was arrested. Had he not resigned, he would have faced termination procedures.
