A pot belly pig is spending the night in the SPCA in Largo, after someone saw the swine wandering in a Clearwater neighborhood.

SPCA officer Cheryl Huston worked to rescue the pet that had a pink piggy pedicure.

"Took us about 45 minutes to capture her, she was very sweet though, not anything mean,” said Huston. “We tricked her into a carrier with treats."

Jamie Mazzullo says she’s the pig’s owner. She calls the pig “Louie” and was upset when she found out he was missing.

Jamie Mazzullo says the missing pig is hers and his name is Louie.

"I started crying,” said Mazzullo.

The pig made it about four blocks before it was picked up by the SPCA.

The SPCA will require proof before turning over the animal.

Jaime says she can’t wait to be reunited with Louie.

"He loves his belly rubbed, so I know that's what he'll get first,” she said.

“Then, I know he'll probably get more food then he usually does."

As for those painted hooves, Jaime says a friend painted them Sunday.

Officials say the friendly pig has toenails that had been painted pink, and that she loves dog treats. (Clearwater Police Department)
