The owner of a tree trimming service died Tuesday, several days after he and a worker were shocked by power lines in Largo.

Steven Hansen, 32, died Tuesday afternoon from injuries he sustained in the accident, which happened last Wednesday. Hansen was the owner of Happy Palms Tree Trimming.

Officials said Hansen and Lance Russel, 50, were working on Tallowood Drive when they moved a ladder and hit the power lines above them.

Members of Hansen's family said Hansen pushed Russel away, and in the process kept Russel from being seriously injured.

However, Hansen was critically injured as a result. Officials said he went into cardiac arrest and was taken to Largo Medical Center in critical condition.

"Steven was always helping others and always going above and beyond to make his customers happy," Hansen's family said in a press release.

The family said they are holding a celebration of life gathering at Shelter No. 3 in Eagle Lake Park, 1800 Keene Road, on Friday from 4-8 p.m.  Anyone who wishes to pay their respects is invited to come by.
