Bollywood celebrities are starting to arrive for this week's International Indian Film Academy awards in Tampa.

A crowd gathered at Tampa International Airport hoping to catch a glimpse of actor Shahid Kapoor.

"I'm so excited because he's an Indian actor," said one fan.

"Never been able to meet him before. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity, " said another.

Fans held their autograph books and cell phones in hand, eagerly waiting for Kapoor who's considered quite a heartthrob.

"I wanna give him a hug," said one woman. "I'm going to do a really big hug," said another.

"He's the Brad Pitt of Bollywood,” said one man who was waiting to see Kapoor with his 6-year-old daughter.

Fans screamed and waved welcome signs as Kapoor made his entrance.

"I just got down from a 22 hour flight but it was enough to make me feel very, very happy and excited," Kapoor said. "It's always great to see the kind of support we have when we travel outside (India)."

Kapoor said he's excited about co-hosting the IIFA awards on Saturday. It's the first time these awards have been held in the United States.

"It's fantastic. I mean, there's a huge audience out there for Indian cinema and one rarely gets to interact with fans directly and we'll be here and we'll be interacting with them and that's the best part," he said.

Later in the evening, actor and producer Vivek Anand Oberoi was scheduled to arrive at the airport.
