Thanksgiving is nearly here and pretty soon, Black Friday ads will start popping up.

Best Buy is usually a favorite for die hard shoppers. Many set up tents days before to get the first crack at door buster deals on electronics.

Strategy is the name of the game to get the best deals. Department stores like Best Buy, Walmart, Target, Kohls and Macy’s all put out their Black Friday fliers well in advance to give you time to make your picks and come up with a plan.

Try not to get distracted when you’re grabbing merchandise. Have a list in hand of the items you want and know will be a great deal. Browsing for whim purchases can waste time and might not be the best bargains.

This year, like years past, many Black Friday specials will start on Thanksgiving day. Jim Murphy, the manager at a Best Buy in Tampa, said it’s what shoppers want.

“People are asking for it,” Murphy said. “People are wanting to be able to get to as many stores as possible and it’s giving them that opportunity to do it.”

That doesn’t mean that you won’t find deals on Black Friday and throughout the holiday weekend.
