A campaign is gaining steam on social media to deport the Statue of Liberty. There's just one catch: the campaign is a parody.
The fake group Legals for the Preservation of American Culture is campaigning on Twitter and even created a YouTube video to push the fictitious cause.
In the video, Lady Liberty is questioned by a U.S. Citizens And Immigration worker. The statue can’t prove she’s a U.S. citizen so she is set to be deported to France.
The real group behind the campaign is the human rights organization Breakthrough. Its website explains it started the campaign to inject some humor into the immigration debate.
